The Tampa Bay Juniors Premier team started off the playoffs Friday morning against the Blades in a game that was tightly contested through two periods.

Paul Flidr started the scoring 5 minutes in, banging home a rebound from fellow countryman Matej Dejdar. The Blades would tie it up a few minutes later, and score early in the second frame.

Flidr followed that up with his second goal of the contest, just 11 seconds after the Blades took the lead. Flidr’s second tally was a product of the “All Czech” line, with assists coming from Dejdar again, as well as Patrik Tuma.

Both teams would trade chances for the remainder of the period, with neither team breaking through.

However, just 1:41 into the third period, the Blades would find the back of the net and didn’t look back from that point on, finishing with a 5-2 win over the Tampa club.

Sunday’s game was a big one for the TBJ team. Win and survive another day,  lose, and go home for the year. The message was clear, play for the guy sitting next to you, and leave it all on the ice as if it’s the last game you will ever play.

The Juniors did just that. Tyler Schaefer scored 3:47 into the first period, with assists credited to Mark Louria, and Saxon Green. Five minutes later, Paul Flidr found Evan Sivets all alone in front of the Blades net. Sivets’ initial shot was saved, but he banged home the rebound to make the game 2-0.

Before the end of the first frame, the Juniors found themselves with a 4-0 lead. With their backs against the wall in a potential elimination game, they knew that no lead was safe. TBJ rifled home 4 more goals in the period, bringing their lead to 8-1 at the final intermission.

In an attempt to set the tone for the game 3 winner take all matchup, the Juniors added an additional 3 goals to finish the game with an 11-1 win.

14 different players registered a point for the Tampa Bay Juniors in game two as they closed out the game with their biggest victory of the year. 10 of those players recorded a multi point game, including Matej Dejdar with 3 goals and an assist.
