Tampa Bay Juniors Premier and Elite Sweep

Wesley Chapel, FL - The Tampa Bay Juniors Premier and Elite teams each swept their weekend series over the Florida Junior Blades.  For TBJ Premier it would be their first sweep of the season winning Friday night at home 5-1 then finishing off the Blades 7-3 at Hertz Arena.  Mark Louria would lead the way with 3 goals on the weekend with Paul Flidr and Matej Dejdar each netting one per game.

TBJ Elite would win by scores of 5-3 and 5-2 clinching the #1 seed in the Divisional Playoffs at the end of the month.  Jonny Scheer led the way Friday with 2 goals and Jack Mazur led the sweep with 2 goals Saturday.  TBJ Elite goes for the outright back to back Division Champions next week verse the Florida Eels in Fort Myers.

Friday 2/1/19  At FHCI
TBJ Premier 5  Blades 1

Tampa Goalie Daniel Kortenhaus made 23 saves as Tampa fired 55 shots on goal in the victory.  Derek Walker opened the scoring with Dejdar and Ethan Chadwell also scoring to give TBJ a 3-1 lead after the first.  Louria and Flidr would seal the win with each scoring in the third.

TBJ Elite 5  Blades 3
Scheer's 2 goals with Trent Gephart and Spencer Geer each adding one as Tampa jumped to a 4-0 lead.  Jackson Drysdale would put the game out of reach with a goal mid way through the third period.  Goalie, Sean Hatton, made 1 saves in the win.

Saturday 2/2/19 At Hertz Arena
TBJ Premier 7  Blades 3

Two goals by Louria and one each by Dejdar and Connor Reed gave Tampa a 4-1 lead.  The Blades scored 2 goals early in the third to cut the lead to one before Zach Puterbaugh and Tyler Schaeffer scored 11 seconds apart to preserve the 3 goal lead.  Flidr put the game away with his power play goal and Connor Green made 33 saves for the win.

With the number one seed on line, Tampa would fall behind 2-1 with Gephart scoring.  Late in the second Roco Selivanov's goal would tie it at two going into the third.  Zack Parker and Mazur's 2 goals capped off a dominate third period as TBJ pulled away and clinched the #1 seed.  Juho Salema, making hid Elite debut had 11 saves for the win.
