TBJ Elite Punches Ticket to Nationals

Wesley Chapel, FL - The Tampa Bay Juniors Elite Team punched their ticket to Nationals in Utica, NY with a 7-3 game three win over the Florida Blades.  TBJ would jump out to a 2-0 lead with goals from Richard Moskala and Ari Blatt but the Blades would cut it in half with a goal at 18:46 of the period.

Despite TBJ firing 20 shots on goal in the second period, the blades would score the only goal of the period to tie it 2-2 going into the 3rd.  The third period saw TBJ come out flying as Loui Jonsson, Alex Wilkes and Mookie Killen all scored in the first 3 minutes to take a commanding 5-2 lead.  Dylan Hineman and Killen would round out the scoring for the 7-3 win.

Game one of the series saw TBJ lose 4-3 in overtime despite outshooting the Blades 52-36.  It took a goal from Carter Trussler with 16 seconds remaining to force the overtime before the Blades would win it.

Game two, with TBJ season on the line, saw the Juniors pull out a 6-1 win with Trussler, Jonsson, Blatt, Aroyan, Moskala and Killen providing the scoring.  Ethan Carlone played all three games in the series to help send the team to Utica.

Tampa opens Nationals Thursday evening at 8 pm vs the Islanders Hockey Club.

Premier team season comes to an end

TBJ Premier saw its season come to an end with a 5-0 game 3 loss to the Florida Eels.   The Eels would win game 1 of the series but Tampa would win a thrilling game 2 in overtime 4-3 on a goal by Livio Azevedo to send the series to the deciding game 3.

TBJ Premier would finish the season 29-18.  The Tampa Bay coaches and staff would like to thank all of the ‘03 age out players who helped make this a very successful and enjoyable season.
