Wesley Chapel, FL - The past 2 weekends have been a busy one for the Tampa Bay Juniors. It started with the Florida Cup October 14 & 15 and ended with the Alumni game and 1st annual TBJ golf Open.
Two weekends ago The Tampa Bay Juniors traveled South to Fort Myers for the Florida Cup. On Saturday, October 14th, TBJ Elite team played the Palm Beach Typhoons, and won 3-2. Lucas Gonzalez scored the first goal in the first period, followed by the other goal scorers, Kelan Jamison and Jan Zeman in the second period. The win meant TBJ would play the Florida Eels for the cup. TBJ Elite played a super close game but took a loss of 3-4. Derek Aroyan, Jan Zeman, and Owen Vachon were our goal scorers from this game.
The TBJ Premier team also played the Typhoons and won 6-5. Daniel Cullen scored 1 goal in the 2 period with 2 assists, and Ty Patefield scored one goal in the first period, with one assist in the second period to Daniel’s goal. The Premier game went into overtime, and the OT goal was scored by Tyler Cullen, bringing home the win.
TBJ Premier would also face the Eels for the championship but would fall 5-0.
This past weekend both teams played the Bold City Battalion as part of Alumni weekend. On Friday, October 20th, TBJ Elite team won by a whopping 12-1. Max Ratliff scored 2 goals in the third period and Mookie Killen scored a hattrick!
TBJ Premier team would fall 6-1 to the Battalion with Nathaniel Cheney scoring the goal in the second period.
But the highlight of the weekend was the Alumni Game between the Elite and Premier games. 20 former players came back for it and had a great time reliving memories and telling stories.
The stories continued the next day at the 1st annual TBJ Open at Saddlebrook Resort. 17 foursomes competed with the Trail Blazers winning at -14 although there was some controversy with lateness of their card coming at the last second to move the Dan K Show to 2nd place.
TBJ wants to thank everyone that was involved in Alumni Weekend!!
