For the third time this season, the Tampa Bay Juniors headed on the road to play the Palm Beach Typhoon. Despite being undefeated on the road against Palm Beach only the Premier team was able to snag a win. On the other hand, the Elite team suffered their first loss of the season to the Typhoon.

A Tough Fall for Elite

The Tampa Bay Juniors Elite team fell to Palm Beach this past Saturday by a final score of 7-4.  Even though the Juniors were able to get on the board a couple of times, a slow start was really what hurt the team. Palm Beach came out in this contest and was able to get off to a 3-goal lead.

Tampa Bay was unable to recover after that despite bringing a good second and third period effort.  The hard start for Tampa Bay may have been the difference, but the team showed their ability to rally. The goal scorers in this game for the Juniors were Keegan Thurber, Robert Sheets, Tyler Macindoe, and Frederick Bonebrake. With this loss the elite squad drops to 10-6-1 on the season and second in the Florida division.

Premier’s win Streak Continues

The Tampa Bay Juniors Premier team stayed on track with a 4-2 win against Palm Beach. The win extended their winning streak to three games. Unlike Elite, Premier had an impressive start to their game going out to a three-goal lead after the first period. Tampa Bay extended that lead even more in the second to four goals which ultimately put the game out of reach for the Typhoon.

Even though Tampa Bay was outshoot 49 to 36 the Juniors looked to be on top of their game all throughout this contest. Nonetheless, Blake Mons was the star of the show for Tampa Bay stopping 47 of the 49 shots taken by Palm Beach. Goal scorers for Tampa Bay included Connor Nelson, Noah Weisjahn, AJ Beugen, and Ryan Walsh. The Juniors now sit second in the Florida division at 10-6-1.

Rising Stars

For Elite, there have been a couple of guys who have been playing really well. To start on defense is Frederick Bonebrake who as of late continuously finds himself on the scorecard.

Another player who’s done a nice job putting pucks in the net is Robert Sheets. Both players for Elite have done tremendous stuff.

On the Premier team there also have been a couple guys on fire lately. Connor Nelson being one of those guys. Nelson has done good work setting guys up and also finding the back of the net.

The other standout premier player as of late has been Jack Fleer who has really stepped up and has helped this team win some crucial games.

What’s to Come

Coming back home both the Premier and Elite teams will prepare to face off against the Atlanta Mad Hatters. This will be the first meeting between the teams this season. Both teams will see each other three times over the span of three days this coming weekend.

Elite will look to get back on track against the Mad Hatters who have been competitive this year in the division. The Mad Hatters Elite squad sits at 7-6-1 on the year right under Tampa Bay.

Premier on the other hand will look to continue their win streak. The Mad Hatters Premier team has also been competitive in the division sitting at 7-8-1 right under the Florida Junior Blades.

Tampa Bay will have no easy way out this weekend against Atlanta who hopes to climb their way through the standings.
