In a league with well over 100 goalies that have played 5+ games, former Tampa Bay Junior Milton Rosén ranks #1 in save percentage.

Through 214 shots, Rosén has only let in 9, good for a 95.79 save percentage. Milton has been up to the task stealing games for his team, including his win over Osby where he stopped 46 of 47, on the road against Jonstorps IF where he stopped 39 of 41, and just this week stopping 33 of 34 against a team just 2 points ahead of them in the standings.

We caught up with Milton for a quick interview.

For the 2019-2020 season, you decided to come over to the US to play junior, what led to that decision, and ultimately the Tampa Bay Juniors?

I wasn’t happy with my situation that I had in Sweden, and wanted to try something new. So I took some help from an advisor who gave me some options and from the information that I got Tampa was the number one choice for me!

How would you describe your time on and off the ice in Tampa?

The season I had in Tampa is my favorite one so far! Being able to spend all the time you want at the rink and in the gym, and then to just take the rest of the time off with friends, in the best place you could possibly live in. Maybe not the not the best I’ve personally been on the ice, but I feel like I developed my game as the season went by, from having coaches doing everything to help me get better and believing in me. I think I got quicker from playing on the smaller rink, which is something I’ve been working on for years! Couldn’t be more happy about the people around me as coaches, teammates and my amazing billet family! Made memories and friends that I will carry for the rest of my life.

Looking at your success this year back home in Sweden, what do you think has contributed to your incredible start?

We’re a team with a lot of great players who really believe in each other! I have an awesome goalie partner to look up to and compete with, and I feel like I’m getting my game together, feeling quicker and most of all feeling a lot more confident and really enjoying getting on the ice trying to get to the next level, and trying to prove myself! Also thankful to Rett (TBJ assistant coach and goalie coach) who helped me get here last year to start my senior career in this team!
