Wesley Chapel, FL - The Tampa Bay Juniors Hockey Club is proud to announce that forwards Nate Albers and Truett Olson are both heading to Liberty University to play next season.  Liberty U is located in Lynchburg, VA and has been an ACHA Division I powerhouse.  It recently just made the semi finals for the ACHA DI National this April.

Both Albers and Olson came to Tampa in mid January.  "I recruited Nate over the summer and when he became available we jumped on it." Said Head Coach Garrett Strot.  "It worked out that Truett was also available and we were looking for 2 players."

Both players played for North Star Academy in Alexandria, MN last season and were supposed to play in Canada this year but the league postponed for a year.

"Right away both Nate and Truett brought energy and a great work ethic to our team," continued Strot.  "They both have great character and brought a lot to our lineup, especially with Olson's speed and Albers size and physicality."

"My time playing for TBJ was used for me to grow as a hockey player."  Stated Olson, an '01 from Alexandria, MN  "I wanted to get stronger and faster and the sprint mechanics along with the sprinting and workouts helped me achieve that.  I really enjoyed the group of guys we had and became close.  It was a fun experience."

Albers also an '01 from McKenney, TX stated "Although the season didn't quite play out the way I planned, I was incredibly blessed to be able to head down to Tampa and play for TBJ.  Joining mid season I was unsure how the team would react but from the time I got there, the boys welcomed me in."

"Having committed to Liberty, I saw TBJ as an opportunity to improve in skill and speed." continued Albers.  "Even though my time there was short I saw noticeable gains in my speed and hands, which is a big emphasis of the program.  I can't wait to start at Liberty and use all the things I learned to continue to get better.  I am extremely grateful for the opportunities given to me in Tampa."

The Tampa bay Juniors Staff want to wish both Nate and Truett's families the best of luck as they continue on their hockey journeys!!
