Tampa Bay Juniors complete Premier and Elite weekend sweep of the Florida Jr. Blades.

Premier picked up a 7-2 road win, and followed it up with a 6-2 win in their home opener. Trailing for only 5 minutes in the entire series, TBJ had 13 players pick up at least one point. Goal scoring came from 9 different players, including 6 rookies combining for 8 of the 13 goals scored for on the weekend.

Milton Rosen and Cade Kujawski, both USPHL rookies, picked up their first wins of the season. The goaltenders recorded save percentages of .931 and .939, respectively.

The TBJ Elite team edged out a tightly contested battle on Friday in Estero, winning 4-3 in overtime. Sunday’s home opener saw the young elite team explode for 9 goals against the blades.

TBJ Elite, only a few months removed from a national championship runner up finish, features an almost completely new roster with 17 rookies. 7 of rookies found the back of the net for their first junior goals, with an additional 3 earning assists.

Alex Higginbotham and Evan Spinella earned their first wins of the year. Higginbotham turned aside 27 of 28 shots, while Spinella made a huge cross-crease save in OT to keep the Juniors alive.

Both teams have next weekend off, play will resume for TBJ at the Hampton Showcase.
