TBJ Quartet Commit to FGCU

Wesley Chapel, FL - Four Tampa Bay Juniors Elite Players have made their college decision to play for Florida Gulf Coast University.   Forwards Jack Mazur and Kyle Ciaccio along with goalies Shaun Hatton and Nolan Kare will suit up for national ACHA power house Eagles in the 2019-20 season.

Mazur, '00 from Trinity, FL, was one of the TBJ Elite captains scoring 22 goals and 49 points in 40 games played this season.  "Jack was an important part of our success this season and helping get us to the USPHL National Finals," said Head Coach Garrett Strot.  "He had 2 excellent seasons with TBJ and will have continued success with FGCU."

Ciaccio, '01 from Tampa, FL,  played one season with TBJ and had 12 goals with 35 points in 36 games played.  "Kyle really came along as the season progressed," said Strot.  "He played his best throughout the biggest games and was an emotional leader throughout the National Championships."

Kare, '98 from Romeo, MI, was 15-6-1 a 3.24 GAA and a .904 save percentage for the season.  "Nolan came to us after a season in the WSHL and had a tremendous season for us,"said Strot, "he especially came up big in his 2 games at Nationals."

Hatton, '01 from Bradenton, FL, was 16-6-2 with a 2.88 GAA and a .919 save % during the season.  "Shaun was tremendous all season for us," said Strot.  "He saved his best for last with an incredible game vs the Northern Cyclones to get us into the Championship game!  The bigger the game the best came out of him."

The Tampa Bay Juniors wish all 4 players and their families the best of luck next season and in the future as they continue their hockey careers!!!
